Plaid Camel Productions recently installed an ultra compact multi-media environment in Memphis’ Über-cool vintage clothing, collectible & rock n’ roll memorabilia retailer, Hi-Octane Vintage.
Situated, in the hip Cooper-Young Neighborhood of Memphis, at 2160 Young Avenue. The store is a couple doors down from Goner Records and sells the coolest collectible junk in Memphis and beyond. Specializing in vintage items, new and previously owned Retro, Western, Rockabilly and Kustom Kulture inspired clothing, accessories and home furnishings. The store also features some of the coolest impromtu Saturday afternoon jam sessions around due to the numerous musicians and entertainers that stop by the location to shop or visit. You just never can tell who'll be sitting on the 1950's leopard print sectional couch pickin' a few numbers. Past couch pickers have included members from Ministry, Reverend Horton Heat, Steve Earle and The Dukes, The Mavericks, The Dusters, Lightnin' Malcolm and Cedric Burnside just to name a few. The store’s proprietress Miss Nikki can whip you up some “custom duds” or alter one of her many ”ya just can’t live without 'em” vintage items that almost fits. She also has an amazing and eclectic selection of musical and hot rod related merchandise.
